The Story: Fragility in bloom. This botanical study captures the paper-thin texture of a pink poppy in the height of spring. It celebrates the contrast between the delicate, crinkled petals and the strong, vibrant green stem that supports them.

The Process: Using a mixed-media approach, I first laid a wash of alcohol-based ink to capture the flower's translucent glow. I then spent hours layering oil-based colored pencils to draw the tiny, vertical veins that give the poppy its signature texture. The result is an artwork that feels light and airy, yet is rich in detail.
